Stans station – Wächselacher – Wirzboden – Huebliegg – Stans
The cantonal capital can be viewed from a number of different angles. This two-hour walk is signposted "Rund um Stans" (around Stans) and takes you through residential neighbourhoods, past pretty farmhouses and to the romantic Hueblimatt vantage point. If it's a Saturday morning, fortify yourself for the walk with a visit to the local "Wuche-Märcht" (weekly market), which is held from late April to early November.

Author’s advice
There are many culinary highlights to discover in Stans. For example, the delicious Cordon Bleus at the Hotel Restaurant Engel or the baked "Geisschäs" from Meierskählen and the "Rindskopfbäggli" at the Restaurant Stärne. In the CULINARIUM ALPINUM in the former Capuchin monastery, you will encounter regional products such as milk caramel.
