Grafenort – Geissmattli – Bielen – Diegisbalm – Oberalp – Gummenalp – Wirzweli – Dallenwil
Nidwalden is rich in attractive cable cars. In the Engelberg valley they lead from the valley floor up to hamlets, and on to alps near the forest line. This panoramic high-level hike is - thanks to the cable cars - not very tough.

Directions
From Geissmattli the cable car takes us to Bielen. Almost parallel to the altitude, the path leads over to Diegisbalm, which is also connected with a cable car from the valley. We take the upper section up to Oberalp and from here we hike 45 minutes to Gummenalp with the mountain restaurant. If you have tired legs after the "Kafi Träsch", you can take the cable car down to Wirzweli, where the restaurant Waldegg is located right next to the valley station. From Wirzweli you take the cable car to Dallenwil. (Time calculation considering the cable cars, pure walking distance: 6.5km)
Author’s advice
The Berggasthaus Gummenalp or the Gasthaus Restaurant Waldegg on Wirzweli are ideal for a break on the way.
