Älplermagronen

Ingredients

  • 4 waxy potatoes, peeled and cut into cubes
  • 400 g macaroni, e.g. original Kerns pasta
  • 5 dl half-fat cream
  • 1 dl milk
  • 1 tbsp bouillon
  • salt
  • white pepper
  • 200 g grated Sbrinz
  • 2 fresh onions, sliced
  • apple puree or slices

Preparation

  1. Cook the potatoes in salted water for 15 minutes.
  2. At the same time cook the macaroni in salted water as stated on the packet.
  3. Sweat the onions in the butter.
  4. Place the cream and milk in a pan, season with bouillon, salt and pepper and bring to the boil.
  5. Add the drained potato cubes and continue to boil briefly in the creamed milk.
  6. Then mix in the macaroni.
  7. Remove the pan from the heat and allow to stand briefly so as to form a nice blend.
  8. Mix in the grated cheese.
  9. Serve the Älplermagronen with apple puree and fried onions.
