The Haus zur Treib on Lake Lucerne in the canton of Uri has been an inviting place to meet for hundreds of years. The restaurant is a true place of hospitality.
The kitchen team at the Wirtshaus zur Treib spoils its guests with regional products in a unique setting with a unique view. The small terrace of the inn is located right next to the jetty and the Treib-Seelisberg railway station. From here, you can perfectly observe the hustle and bustle on the lake and on land while you indulge in culinary delights.

Did you know?

In the past, the Treib served as neutral territory for persecuted people. They were allowed to stay here for three days without being arrested. The Wirtshaus zur Treib used to be a place of refuge for shipwrecked people and many people came here for pleasure and enjoyment.

The Wirtshaus zur Treib was first mentioned in 1482. During 72 sessions of the Old Swiss Confederacy, it was considered the "first federal house in Switzerland" before it burnt down in 1657/1658. It was rebuilt as early as 1658. It remained almost unchanged until 1903, but was then replaced by a new building due to its poor condition. Today it is a listed building. You can visit the Tagsatzungsstube today as a testimony to times gone by. The roof tiles and parts of the façade and windows also date from earlier times.
