Alpine hike

The Alpine Hike is an Alpine hiking experience combined as a round trip by bus, train and boat. The centrepiece of the Via Urschweiz can be experienced in just one day. The Via Urschweiz is a five-day panoramic cultural trail along historically valuable landscapes and transport routes between Uri and Nidwalden.

The cable car takes you from Beckenried to Klewenalp at 1600 metres above sea level. From here, the 3-hour hike starts via Hinter Jochli to the rustic Gitschenen high plateau. The cable car descends from Gitschenen to St. Jakob (Isenthal) and the bus takes you along the panoramic route to Isleten. The journey offers breathtaking views of the mountain scenery, the Reuss valley in Uri and the Schwyz basin. A highlight of the round trip is the boat trip from Isleten back to the starting point. The round trip can also be started in Altdorf, Brunnen, Treib, Gersau, Isenthal or Gitschenen.
