Black grouse baling observation

The common courtship display of the black grouse in spring is one of the most impressive spectacles. As early as April, when there is still plenty of snow in the mountains, the black grouse gather at the traditional mating grounds. Long before sunrise, the first squawks can be heard in the freezing cold. Each cock defends a small area in the arena and tries to show off as effectively as possible. After mating, the cockerels do not care about nest building or brood care.
