From 18 October to 14 November 2021, the Lucerne-Lucerne Allmend/Messe railway line will be closed due to expansion work. Rail replacement buses will operate.

If food is your thing, you can visit the in-house "Chocolaterie du Ballenberg", have a meal in a comfy restaurant or take home something "homemade" as a souvenir. A great playground and the Ballenberg carousel provide action-packed entertainment for mini museum researchers. The petting enclosure is no less exciting: goats, hens, rabbits – everyone's looking forward to the visitors! 200 other farm animals such as horses, oxen, mules, geese, ducks and sheep are also dotted about the site.
