Isenthal

Pure idyll: away from the stress and noise of everyday life, you will be greeted by friendly people and interesting personalities after an adventurous journey from Isleten. Surrounded by green meadows and extensive mixed hardwood forests in a marvellous mountain world, Isenthal is also rich in living traditions, cultivated handicrafts and living culture.

The Isenthal Tourism Association has also recognised all that this special valley has to offer. With tireless dedication and a great deal of passion, the association is committed to promoting tourism interests. Around 105 kilometres of marked hiking trails are made available to hikers and nature lovers. More than twenty volunteer trail workers ensure that the trails are always in perfect condition. Many a creative idea has been developed and realised in this way, such as Switzerland's first bear trail or the ‘Urchigs Handwärch’ adventure trail. As part of the opening of the new Via Urschweiz cultural hiking trail, a world record was even shattered - all together, in keeping with the philosophy of the dedicated Isenthalers.
